Join our papermaking class and discover the basics of creating your own handmade paper in this introductory class.
- What you’ll learn in this class:
- How to create paper pulp.
- How to make recycled paper.
- How to embed designs into your paper.
- How to add inclusions like flowers, plants and thread into your paper.
You will also learn how damp paper can be molded and shaped to create sculptural projects, as well as used as collage, painted on, etc.
Taught by Anne Grannis, an accomplished artist and someone who loves to make stuff.
Grannis will provide the necessary materials to create the paper. Students need to bring several old towels and an apron. If you want, you can also bring inclusions like flowers, leaves, and/or fibers, like yarn or twine.
