Mosaic Garden Pole

Create an amazing mosaic garden pole using Handmade by Joan ceramic flowers, leaves, butterflies plus many more tiles, plates and baubles to personalize your masterpiece.

The class is held in charming Morro Bay, California with it's landmark Morro Rock, and features amazing seafood and views galore. Snacks will be provided and food is available within steps of the venue.

Hours will be Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 with orientation, Saturday 9:00 - 7:00 and Sunday 9:00 - 2:00. You can always take a break for some fresh ocean air and shopping.

The garden pole is 4' tall, with a decorative area of 3', leaving 1' to mount underground. The post measures 4" square. Total working area is 36" x 16".

You'll learn all the ins-and-outs of working on an outdoor project from pole prep to correct adhesives to grouting to sealing to mounting your masterpiece. Use of tools and supplies are included. Depending on desired detail and skill level, the pole may be completed in the workshop. If not, supplies and instructions will be sent home with you to complete your mosaic creation.

Feel free to bring do-dads, baubles and things you have to incorporate into your garden pole. Metal pieces are not recommended.

A $100 deposit is required to hold your space in class. Full payment of $275 is due on May 1st.

Once payment is received, Joan will contact you to discuss your layout, provide blank diagrams and a provided materials list to help in designing your garden pole.

Join our papermaking class and discover the basics of creating your own handmade paper in this introductory class.

What you’ll learn in this class:
* How to create paper pulp.
* How to make recycled paper.
* How to embed designs into your paper.
* How to add inclusions like flowers, plants and thread into your paper.

You will also learn how damp paper can be molded and shaped to create sculptural projects, as well as used as collage, painted on, etc.

Taught by Anne Grannis, an accomplished artist and someone who loves to make stuff.

Grannis will provide the necessary materials to create the paper. Students need to bring several old towels and an apron. If you want, you can also bring inclusions like flowers, leaves, and/or fibers, like yarn or twine.

Join our wire-wrapped jewelry class and discover the art of creating stunning and unique pieces of jewelry. You’ll learn fundamental wire wrapping techniques, including how to shape and manipulate wire
to create intricate designs. You will walk away with the skills to create necklaces, earrings and bracelets.

No experience necessary. Because each student selects their own bead collection, no two will be the same. This class is the perfect opportunity to unleash your creativity and make something truly special. During this two-hour class you will gain hands-on experience utilizing three simple tools, 24-gauge wire and a vast array of beads that you can personally choose from, all produced by the artist.

Jeweler Li Li Clever will take you through the process of making wire-wrapped jewelry. Clever, your instructor with 25 years of jewelry designing experience, will demonstrate multiple techniques, as well as, work individually with each student to address their artistry level.
